Lighthouse Communications was founded by one of Canada’s fastest rising Business Communications Experts – Alice Namu. Prior to launching the agency, Alice had worked in the communications industry for more than 10 years – with progressive experience in corporate, academic, not for profit and faith-based organizations.

Lighthouse Communications was started to meet the communications, copywriting and content marketing needs of organizations with limited resources. Today, we deliver across a wide range of project sizes – from standalone copy to communications strategy development.

Alice is a serial entrepreneur, investor, and incurable idealist on a mission to tackle social challenges through a business lens. In 2020, she set out to create a different kind of communications and copywriting agency – one that provides creative, reliable, and affordable services to bootstrapping organizations. 

She has served on a number of boards, executive committees and award programs including: the International Association of Business Communicators (Toronto Chapter) as their 2020 – 2021 Vice President of Programs and as a board representative on their IDEA (Inclusivity, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility) Committee; the World Association of Christian Communication (North America) as their 2020 – 2023 Secretary and Officer; and is a frequently returning judge on the Canadian Online Publishing Awards. Alice is also a 2021 alumni of the Centre for Social Innovation’s Women of Ontario Social Enterprise Network (WOSEN).

Alice is also the founder of Completely Handmade – a retailer of African handcrafted housewares, home décor and fashion accessories.

She is fuelled by her unwavering belief that people centred, sustainable and equitable business systems are just what we need to unlock a better world for all.
